Lending / Credit Risk Management Professional - Latin America Specialization

Consulting firm headquartered in New York City specializing in loan review and credit-related services for the banking industry seeking lending/credit risk management professional with domestic and international experience. For this specific posting – all applicants MUST be proficient in English and Spanish and have experience in Latin America.

We are seeking candidates to perform loan reviews for our client portfolios in the U.S.A. and in Latin America. Applicants must have considerable experience in commercial credit risk management and/ or commercial lending (15-20+ years). Experience in any of the following types of lending is considered a plus: commercial real estate, commercial & industrial, construction, infrastructure finance, project finance, and structured finance. The candidates must have experience in evaluating credit risk ratings (including applying regulatory definitions for criticized and classified ratings), the adequacy of the allowance for credit losses (as required under 'USGAAP CECL' and 'IFRS 9 Financial Instruments standards, and application of methodologies based on expected losses).

Loan Review responsibilities include reviewing borrower-specific underwriting and approval information and borrower financial statements and spreads to identify credit process or risk rating issues. The individual will prepare reports summarizing borrower-specific conclusions and write summary observations making recommendations to improve risk management practices at bank clients. Depending on the candidate's background experience, there may be an opportunity for some managing roles of CEIS' overall loan review client engagement process or additional work on specialty projects.

The position is on a contract basis. We seek individuals in and around New York City and Miami, Florida.
